A complimentary compliance health-check
Every delegate leaves with a prioritised, organisation-specific view of their regulatory status — and where to act first.
In partnership with the National Bureau for NGOs under the Ministry of Internal Affairs, and the Civic Advisory Hub
Uganda's civil society landscape has undergone significant regulatory realignment. The Employment (Amendment) Act, 2026 has introduced new obligations for every employer. Tax reforms and a new financial reporting standard — the International Non-Profit Accounting Standard (INPAS) — are changing how NGOs account for and report on their resources. The enhanced enforcement of the data protection framework adds further layers to an already complex picture. Together, these changes call for more than incremental adjustment — they call for a shared, sector-wide conversation.
The NGO Risk, Compliance & Resilience Conference 2026 is a response to that need: a single day bringing together NGOs, non-profit associations, donors, and regulators to make sense of this new landscape together, and to leave with clear, practical steps toward resilience and growth. This is not a conference about compliance for its own sake — it is about giving Uganda's civil society sector the clarity and tools it needs to keep doing its work within the law.
By the end of the day, participants will leave with a clear understanding of their organisation's regulatory status, a prioritised view of the challenges most relevant to them, and a complimentary compliance health-check to guide their next steps.
What every delegate walks away with, and what the conference sets out to build for the sector as a whole.
Provide practical, actionable guidance for compliance with the Employment (Amendment) Act, tax reforms, the data protection framework, and INPAS.
Build shared clarity on the legal distinction between NPOs and NGOs, and what it practically means for compliance.
Give participants a clear, prioritised understanding of the sector's most pressing regulatory changes and how these apply to their own organisation.
Establish an annual platform for regulatory dialogue and knowledge-sharing between NGOs, regulators, donors, and advisory professionals.
Strengthen collaboration across the sector by connecting NGOs with regulators, donors, and service providers — opening avenues for future partnership.
Contribute to a more resilient, transparent, and well-governed civil society sector in Uganda through sustained, annual engagement.
Hear directly from the regulators and advisers who set and interpret the rules governing Uganda's civil society sector.
Leave with a prioritised compliance health-check and a clear plan for the changes ahead, not just a summary of what changed.
Join NGOs, donors, regulators and advisers from across Uganda's civil society sector in one room, built for real conversation.
Get programme updates, speaker announcements and registration details sent straight to your inbox.
Thanks — we'll keep you posted.
One focused day designed to move your organisation from regulatory uncertainty to a prioritised, practical way forward.
Every delegate leaves with a prioritised, organisation-specific view of their regulatory status — and where to act first.
Cut through fragmented guidance on the Employment Act, tax reforms, INPAS and data protection, from the people who advise on them daily.
Engage the NGO Bureau and other regulators directly, in a constructive setting built for dialogue, not enforcement.
Compliance checklists, risk-assessment templates and sample policies, plus a digital toolkit and session recordings for your team.
Diversified funding, sound governance, and what it really takes to make a project fundable when donors pull back.
Meet peers, donors, advisers and service providers, and join the founding cohort of a platform that convenes every year.
The programme is built around seven areas identified through the sector's current regulatory priorities and the interests expressed by prospective attendees.
A cross-sector room of people who hold budgets and decisions. Regulators, donors, advisers and NGO leaders — in conversation, not in correspondence.
